Halloween Creative Food Safety | Shanan X-ray Inspection Ensures Quality of Toy-Shaped Snacks
During the Halloween season, toy-shaped snacks and themed creative foods are increasingly popular in the market. While these products offer unique and attractive designs, they also present additional challenges for quality control and food safety. Recently, Shanan Technology conducted inspection tests for a batch of doll-shaped snacks. Due to their complex structure and decorative components, traditional metal detectors may not provide comprehensive results. To ensure product quality and consumer safety, Shanan utilized its X-ray inspection system to conduct high-precision foreign object detection throughout the production line.     Why X-ray Inspection Is Recommended for Creative Toy-Shaped Snacks Toy-shaped and seasonal snacks often contain multiple materials and three-dimensional structures, making certain foreign objects difficult to detect using standard metal detectors. Shanan’s X-ray system identifies density differences within the product, allowing for more reliable detection across multiple risk points. Case Study: X-ray Inspection for Aluminum Foil Packaged Products
Ensuring product safety under aluminum foil packaging has always been a challenge for many food manufacturers. Traditional metal detectors cannot penetrate aluminum foil, making it difficult to detect metal fragments or other foreign bodies inside sealed packages. Recently, Guangdong Shan’an Technology successfully completed an inspection test using our X-ray Inspection System for a customer’s aluminum-foil packaged food products. The results demonstrated clear advantages in accuracy, stability, and adaptability. Background The customer produces snack items sealed in aluminum foil film. Due to the packaging material, their existing metal detector could not identify contaminants such as stainless steel, iron, or non-metallic foreign bodies. To ensure production safety, they required a detection solution that works regardless of packaging type. Inspection Process During the test, samples were placed directly onto the conveyor without any special preparation. The Shan’an X-ray system automatically analyzed internal structures of each package and detected multiple types of contaminants, including: Stainless steel Ferrous metals Glass fragments Hard plastic Stones and other dense materials Even under high-speed production conditions, the system maintained a stable rejection accuracy and clear imaging. Test Results Packaging type: Fully sealed aluminum foil Inspection speed: Suitable for continuous mass production Detection performance: Foreign bodies as small as 0.3–0.5 mm Reject system: Automatic, with real-time image storage The customer confirmed that X-ray inspection provides a more reliable solution for their packaging line compared to traditional metal detection. Why X-ray for Aluminum Foil Packaging? Detects foreign objects even through thick aluminum foil Identifies more than just metal Works with high-moisture, high-salt, or conductive products Provides real-time imaging for traceability Reduces product risks during audits and export inspections Conclusion Shan’an’s X-ray Inspection System offers an effective and stable solution for aluminum foil packaged products. With clear imaging, high precision, and compatibility with fast production lines, it helps manufacturers meet domestic and international food safety standards with confidence. X-ray Inspection: A Reliable Solution for Foreign Body Detection in Fruits and Dried Fruits
In recent years, consumers have become increasingly concerned about food safety, especially in natural and minimally processed products such as fruits and dried fruits. Manufacturers are therefore seeking more advanced inspection technologies to ensure product purity, enhance production efficiency, and comply with international export standards.   Challenges with Metal Detection Traditional metal detectors are widely used in the food industry, but they have clear limitations when applied to fruits and dried fruits. Moisture and mineral interference: Fresh and dried fruits often contain natural moisture, sugar, and minerals that create product effects, reducing metal detection sensitivity. Limited detection range: Metal detectors can only identify metallic contaminants (Fe, Non-Fe, SUS) and cannot detect non-metallic foreign objects such as glass, stones, or hard plastic. Packaging restrictions: Many dried fruits use metalized film or aluminum foil packaging, which interferes with metal detection.   Benefits of X-ray Inspection X-ray inspection systems overcome these challenges and provide a comprehensive solution for fruit and dried fruit processing lines. They can detect a wide range of foreign bodies regardless of moisture or packaging material. Key advantages include: Detects both metallic and non-metallic foreign objects such as glass, stones, bones, and hard plastic. Stable and consistent performance in detecting loose, sticky, or irregularly shaped fruits. Applicable for both bulk inspection and packaged products. High-resolution imaging ensures accurate rejection of contaminated items.   Ensuring Consistent Quality and Compliance By integrating X-ray inspection, manufacturers can significantly reduce product recalls and customer complaints, while meeting international standards such as HACCP, ISO22000, and BRC. This technology helps ensure that every batch leaving the factory is safe, clean, and of consistent quality.   About Shan’an Technology With over 15 years of experience, Guangdong Shan’an Technology Co., Ltd. specializes in providing intelligent inspection and weighing solutions for the food industry.
